Eating sushi without rice is fun and all, but most sushi calories are not actually that much, even with rice. Besides the rice, the calories in sushi can vary all depending what they come with. Salmon and tuna are a great source of protein.  It is like chicken breasts, but tastier! Fish is pretty lean, but that mayo on top sure does add on to the calorie count. Most mayo is disguised in the word spicy. Anything that says spicy on it usually has a mayo based sauce. Fish can be eaten raw, or cooked. Avoid anything fried as that will add on to your calories. Fried sushi goes by the name of tempura. Likewise goes for cream cheese.
Vegetable sushi is a very good for watching your calories.  It isn’t fried, nor does it come with cream cheese. The only thing you need to watch for is avocados since they are high in good fats but that is more calories. You can eat a pretty good amount of veggy sushi, but keep in mind of all the rice again.
